Electrical Wiring Devices
Perfect Solution Contracting provides integrated electrical wiring device solutions for commercial buildings, residential developments, industrial facilities, hospitality projects, offices, infrastructure projects, utilities, and other electrical installations.
Our scope can include the supply, installation, connection, inspection, and testing of switches, socket outlets, isolator switches, floor boxes, industrial sockets, and associated electrical accessories according to approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
Wiring devices are selected according to operating voltage, rated current, circuit type, connected load, installation location, environmental conditions, intended use, architectural requirements, and the approved electrical design.
Lighting switches can include single-gang, multi-gang, one-way, two-way, intermediate, and other switching arrangements required by the approved lighting layouts and control philosophy.
Lighting switches are coordinated with the associated lighting circuits, luminaires, and control systems. The electrical rating and switching characteristics should be suitable for the connected load and intended method of operation.
Socket outlets can include general-purpose outlets and dedicated outlets for specific equipment and appliances. Their voltage, current rating, configuration, and installation arrangement are selected according to the circuit and project requirements.
Socket outlet locations and mounting heights are coordinated with approved electrical and architectural drawings, furniture layouts, equipment locations, finishes, worktops, and other building services.
Where equipment requires a local means of electrical isolation, suitable isolator switches can be provided according to the load rating and approved design, allowing the equipment supply to be isolated for operation or maintenance as required.
Isolator switches can be used for applications such as air-conditioning equipment, ventilation systems, heaters, fans, pumps, and other electrical or mechanical equipment where local isolation is specified.
Isolator selection considers the number of poles, rated current, operating voltage, load characteristics, installation location, enclosure requirements, and required degree of environmental protection.
Floor boxes can be provided in offices, meeting rooms, open-plan spaces, conference facilities, and other locations where power or communication services are required within the floor system.
Floor box selection and installation are coordinated with the floor construction, finished floor level, furniture layout, cable routes, electrical services, and low-current systems according to the approved floor box configuration.
Where specified, floor boxes can accommodate power outlets together with dedicated modules or spaces for data and communication services, while maintaining the required arrangement and segregation between different services.
In locations exposed to moisture, dust, or weather, switches, socket outlets, and isolators are selected with an appropriate IP Rating according to the installation environment and project requirements.
Weatherproof wiring devices can be used for outdoor installations, service areas, plantrooms, and other locations requiring additional protection against environmental exposure.
Industrial sockets and plugs can be provided for technical and industrial applications according to the required voltage, current rating, number of poles, environmental conditions, and connected equipment.
Industrial socket selection is coordinated with the connected load and equipment requirements, including current rating, configuration, mounting method, and required environmental protection.
Wiring device solutions can also include socket outlets incorporating USB charging interfaces where these are specified in the approved device schedule and project requirements.
Hospitality and residential applications can include specialized devices such as shaver sockets and other dedicated outlets where required by the approved design.
The finish, color, material, and appearance of switches, socket outlets, and faceplates are coordinated with architectural and interior design requirements, particularly in hospitality, office, residential, and public areas.
Wiring devices can be installed as Flush Mounted or Surface Mounted arrangements depending on the wall construction, architectural finish, installation environment, and project requirements.
Back boxes are coordinated with the selected wiring devices, wall construction, required installation depth, architectural finishes, and conduit or cable entry arrangements.
For gypsum board partitions and other lightweight wall systems, the box type and fixing arrangement are coordinated with the wall system to provide a suitable and secure installation.
Device positions are coordinated with doors, cabinetry, fixed furniture, sanitary fixtures, worktops, mechanical equipment, and other architectural elements to minimize conflicts during installation.
Coordination is also carried out with MEP and low-current services to organize power, data, communication, control, and other service points where multiple systems share the same location.
Wiring devices are connected using suitable conductors and approved circuit arrangements. Connections are checked for correct termination, secure fixing, and appropriate conductor installation without unacceptable mechanical stress.
Earthing connections are provided for devices, enclosures, and associated metallic components where required by the circuit design and equipment configuration.
Final circuits serving socket outlets and other wiring devices are coordinated with the relevant distribution board and protective devices. These can include MCB, RCCB, or RCBO protection where required by the approved electrical design.
Residual-current protection is not necessarily integrated into every individual socket outlet. Depending on the system design, protection can be provided at the distribution board or through other approved protective arrangements.
Dedicated socket outlets and isolators can be clearly identified where required, particularly when an installation contains normal, emergency, generator, UPS-backed, or equipment-specific electrical circuits.
Where socket outlets are supplied from emergency, generator-backed, or UPS circuits, their identification and differentiation from normal-power outlets are coordinated with the approved project identification system.
Before procurement and installation, technical documentation can include product data sheets, samples, device schedules, shop drawings, and architectural details for approval of device type, electrical rating, color, finish, and configuration.
Where required, a Mock-up can be prepared to confirm the final appearance, mounting heights, alignment, spacing, and coordination with architectural finishes before proceeding with full installation.
After installation, wiring devices are inspected to verify their type, location, mounting height, alignment, fixing, electrical connections, faceplates, identification, and overall installation condition.
Electrical testing can include verification of continuity, correct connections, polarity, earthing, and functional operation of switches, socket outlets, and isolators according to the circuit type and approved testing procedures.
Socket outlet testing includes verification of correct connections and operation together with the associated circuit protection. Residual-current protective devices are tested where they form part of the approved circuit protection arrangement.
